The Tiffanie is a semi-longhaired cat that combines the best traits of the Burmese and the Chinchilla Persian. They have the sociable, playful nature of the Burmese with the elegant, silky coat of the Chinchilla. They are affectionate without being overwhelming, curious without being destructive, and beautiful without requiring excessive grooming.

History
The Tiffanie was developed in the UK in the 1980s as part of the Asian Shorthair breeding programme, which aimed to expand the Burmese into new coat lengths and colours. The Tiffanie is the semi-longhaired version of the Asian Shorthair group. It was recognised by the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) in the 1990s.

Health Considerations
Grooming
The semi-long, silky coat requires weekly brushing to prevent tangles. The coat is less prone to matting than many longhaired breeds.
